The BioClip is a concise multimedia
document about a biological topic which mixes text, music, sound, video
and animations ideally in an interactive manner to be diffused via the
Internet.
Of course, there are many ways
to create a bioclip and we can not go into technical details of each software
but you can have a short look at their interface. Two of the softwares
commonly used might be familiar to most of you:
Photoshop
is an image editing software that allows you
to prepare your microscopic images, photos etc. You can use this software
to improve your image quality (contrast, resolution, image size...).
Powerpoint
which is a simple tool to create an independent
slide show integrating text, movies, images, sound… The disadvantage of
this software is that the resulting slideshow file is very big and not
really adapted to be diffused on the web.
Actually, each time you prepare an oral presentation most of the preparative
work is already done which consists in a : Concept
(idea of the story you want to tell) Visuals
(your slides) Script (what you are going
to say) Story board (your slide show).
Now, to produce a Bioclip out of this classical slide you will use other
software packages such as:
Audacity
to record and edit sound
Adobe
Premiere or After
Effects
to edit and compose video sequences
Macromedia
Flash
to create interactive animations for the internet
Click
on the software names to see the interfaces in a pop-up visual. |
