RULES OF THE FESTIVAL
"CINEMA OF THE CELL"
The Bioclips Festival "Cinema
of the Cell" promotes multimedia documents in Life sciences.
File Type:
BioClips should be made in a format
suitable for digital projection : Power Point (.ppt), Quicktime (.mov),
AVI (.avi), Shockwave flash (.swf. It is now possible to convert your Powerpoint file to flash. Visit this link for more information.
Length and filesize:
BioClips should be in english and should
not exceed 8 minutes. Please submit:
- a light version less than 30 Mb
for web broadcast
- a high-resolution version for
the festival screening
Category:
Each BioClip should be entered in one
of the four following categories
- research (multimedia
version of your paper, poster or thesis)
- review (multimedia
clips about gene-ral topics))
- techniques
(multimedia clips explain-ing new technologies)
- visuals (multimedia
clips showing the beauty of science)
Legal informations:
Candidates are responsible for the
content of their BioClips and any resulting breach of copyrights. To copyright you creation and find licenced material (music and media) you can visit Creative Commons.
Deadline of submission :
You can submit your BioClips
for the next "Cinema of the Cell" to be announced on www.bioclips.com
Fill out the online submission form and send a CD-Rom
with your BioClip to the following address:

Selection of BioClips:
The selection will be made by an international Jury composed of scientists
and multimedia specialists. The ten best Bioclips will be projected during
the next "Cinema of the Cell" session.
Prizes will be attributed to the three best BioClips.
It is understood that all candidates agree that their BioClips (filesize
less than 30 Mb) will be displayed on the website www.bioclips.com and
made available for download after the festival.
